Hat Care

The hat can last Generations if maintained

The toquilla straw hat is famous for its feature of being able to roll up and store in small wooden boxes. So we recommend not to keep it rolled or folded for long, as this could more easily damage the straw in a long term.

Handle the hat carefully by the cup, avoiding squeezing the top front as it is fragile and could break the straw.

In case of wrinkling or lack of shape in the brim, use an iron in average temperature, always placing on the wing a fabric or clean rag of similar color to the one of the hat. In this way do not rub the iron directly on the hat avoiding thus the damage of the straw,

Remove any blemishes with a sponge or rag moistened with water and mild soap.

Avoid subjecting the hat to high heat sources such as heating or the interior of a vehicle because the straw would dry and the hat would lose its shape.

Do not expose the hat to the rain as it would lose its shape.

In dry weather if the hat is very stiff, with the steam of an iron at a distance or leaving it in the bath while you shower, moisten it slightly in this way will remain flexible and less brittle.

In humid weather keep the hat in a dry place, this way you will avoid mold on the straw.
